“About a Girl” is the second single to be released from British girl group Sugababes’ seventh studio album Sweet 7. It was written by Jack Lucien and RedOne, and produced by the latter. The song premiered on September 6, on BBC Radio 1. After bandmember Keisha Buchanan departed the group in late September, the song was re-recorded with Jade Ewen’s vocals. The second version of the single aired two weeks later, and is scheduled for release on November 9, 2009. It is the first Sugababes single not to feature Buchanan vocals.

'About A Girl' also introduces a new chapter in the Sugababes' incredible history with the exciting introduction of stunning new member Jade Ewen, who joins Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah following the departure of Keisha Buchanan, who has left to pursue a solo career.
